It's been announced that face masks are now compulsory to wear in the UK whilst travelling on public transport, and in locations that can't adopt social distancing rules effectively.
People flouting the rules can face fines from the 15th June in a bid to reduce the spread of coronavirus.
As more people start to go back to work, transport secretary Gary Schapps has announced the new legislation, and said the rules will be strictly enforced. The policy comes amidst concerns that effective social distancing will be impossible to implement in the enclosed spaces on public transport. Other ways ministers are hoping to combat the virus spread is to encourage passengers to sit as far apart as possible, stagger their travelling times, and avoid travelling at peak times.
“As of Monday 15 June, face coverings will become mandatory on public transport,” Shapps told the daily press conference. “That doesn’t mean surgical masks, which we must keep for clinical settings, it means the kind of face covering you can easily make at home.
“The evidence suggests that wearing face coverings offers some, albeit limited, protection, against the spread of the virus.”

Order your bespoke luxury face mask today to make sure you're safe to travel. The best part is, all of the profits are donated to the NHS. Frank Rostrons' Director Adam Dooley told us: "It's been amazing the amount of orders we have been receiving on a daily basis, and the fact that we're able to help raise money for our incredible NHS makes it all the more worth while."
“Clothes make the man” is a saying most of us brush off without a second thought, but how you dress is the first impression others will have of you, making it vital that you always look your best. While most men are content with shopping on the high street, anyone who appreciates the finer things in life will know the value of having a bespoke shirtmaker and tailor at their disposal. Once a privilege reserved for the upper ranks, these days anyone can turn to these professionals for their menswear needs.
But are they really better than buying off-the-rack? In short, yes. There are several reasons why you should always turn to the experts when it comes to your suits and shirts.
The Perfect Fit.
When it comes to menswear, this means having a well-tailored suit that fits you like a glove. Don’t be fooled by the notion that they are an unnecessary expense, a bespoke shirt and suit is essential for any modern man, ensuring that your business attire is as comfortable as it is stylish. As for the cost, a well-tailored garment will always look far better than an off-the-rack choice, no matter how much you spend. After all, what good is an expensive suit if it doesn’t fit you perfectly?
And fit really is one of the main reasons why investing in a custom made suit will be money well spent. The perfect fit is at the heart of tailoring and can transform not only how you look, but how you feel in a suit. It’s also the perfect option for any man who finds it difficult to find the perfect fit for them. With custom tailoring, everything from suit jackets and trousers to shirts can be adjusted to perfectly fit your shape, in a way that something you pick up in a store could never compete with.
Of course, the perfect fit isn’t the only reason why you should turn to a tailor. As we all know, quality isn’t the first priority in high street stores and mass produced menswear leaves a lot to be desired when compared against its custom-made counterparts.
Tailors and bespoke shirt-makers, on the other hand, produce these garments in-house, ensuring that each and every piece is hand-crafted with the same attention to detail by a team of experts. Turning to a tailor also allows you to choose from a wide range of fabric and patterns to find the perfect combination to suit your style. This superior quality and attention to detail are also why a custom-made shirt or suit will last you far longer than off-the-rack clothing.
Getting the Most from a Made-to-Measure Service.
To make the most of the services and skills of your tailor, make sure that you have a clear idea of what you are looking for. Do you need a new Oxford shirt for business or a casual summer shirt? The more specific you can be in your requirements, the better the end result will be. You can dictate everything from the fabric to the pattern and the collar shape, all of which will be critical to the final look. Utilising all of these different options will ensure that you are getting exactly what you want, and ensures that your shirt will be unique to you.
Bespoke shirt makers Frank Rostron has created a line of luxury face masks in Manchester in a bid to help control the spread of COVID-19 and support the NHS.
With most companies on lockdown in the UK and the rest of the world, some business owners are finding ways to get creative in helping to tackle the global pandemic that we have found ourselves in. This is especially true for Adam Dooley, Director at Frank Rostron in Manchester. They usually produce some of the finest hand made bespoke shirts in the country.
With the coronavirus effective every single one of us in some way of another, Adam decided that he should do something to help. So he and his team got together (virtually) and designed a range of stunning luxury face masks in Manchester.
Taking the beautiful fabrics usually reserved for the fine shirts and suits, seamstresses have created the face masks using the same skills they have developed over the years. Each one is hand sewn, and given the same level of care and attention that their flagship shirts get.
The best part about this initiative is that all of the profits generated from the face masks are donated to our fabulous NHS. You can buy yours directly through our website here.
Adam tells us: "It was really important for me to show my support for the NHS, and I wanted to find a way to raise funds and donate to our cherished front line workers. The country wouldn't cope without the incredible efforts from the doctors, nurses and support staff during this extremely testing time.
"It's time for everyone to come together and do what they can to help, whether that's just by self isolating, or by helping to raise funds for our emergency workers. What myself and the team here at Frank Rostron has proved is that anyone can do it.
"We designed the face masks in Manchester to help contain the spread of the virus, protect people, and raise money for the NHS, but I also hope they serve as a symbol of hope, and show that we'll all get through this together."
Frank Rostron are delighted to announce the launch of their brand new, state of the art eCommerce website, which allows customers to purchase the world-renowned Rostron handmade shirts anywhere on the planet.
Created in collaboration with Manchester based web design agency Premier Web Consultancy, the new website aims to bring the quality shirt-making and personal tailoring service to a global audience. The web design and development team worked closely with the tailors to meet every need of the client, creating a simple shirt buying experience. Each shirt is fully customisable, allowing clients to select from a range of collar styles, cuff types, and a range of measurements to create a truly unique piece.
Ian Henry, Sales Director from Premier Web Consultancy said: "Creating a website which allows users to build a fully customisable shirt came with a range of unique challenges, which our development team overcame through logical thinking to create a very simple to use solution. We're all really happy with the outcome of this project, and thoroughly enjoy working with Rostrons on some very exciting ideas." He added: "The shirts are beautiful, and it's fantastic that now gentlemen all over the world can enjoy quality, British made tailoring with just a few clicks."
This digital revolution doesn't mean a shift away from tradition, each shirt is still hand made in the Manchester shop with the same care and attention given by the on-site seamstresses and tailors, following the traditional shirt making techniques that Rostrons has built their reputation on. The shop has been an icon in the city centre for many decades, and owner Adam Dooley regularly travels to the USA to bring the famed shirts to a wider audience. Adam tells us: "All of my overseas clients having been itching for an easier way to get their hands on our shirts, and now that's exactly what we can offer. It was important for me to impart the same values of bespoke shirt making that we have in the shop to an online platform. The guys at Premier Web Consultancy have managed to combine the technical with the traditional, packaged up in a fantastic new website, and after initial testing, my clients love the simplicity."
